  • Sklar Brothers

    Sklar Brothers

Randy and Jason Sklar began as one zygote and later guest starred in many TV shows, including an Emmy Award winning episode of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, the FX hit “It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as well as Adult Swim’s Childrens’ Hospital. They starred as conjoined twins in a memorable episode of Grey's Anatomy and as warring agents on HBO's Entourage. Of the Entourage episode, Entertainment Weekly television critic Paul Katz wrote of their turn, “in the hands of comedic masters, The Sklar Brothers, they made it soar.” They’ve also appeared in such films as Touchstone's, Wild Hogs, and Fox Atomic's, The Comebacks. They currently host the critically acclaimed History Channel docucomedy
that highlights the ways in which statistics tell the story of America called The United Stats of America. In November of 2006, Randy and Jason wrapped their 4th and final season of their cult classic comedy series, Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic. They also wrote and appeared in a regular segment on ESPN's SportsCenter called, “The Bracket” from 2008 to 2009. In addition they regularly fill in as guest hosts for Jim Rome on his popular nationally syndicated radio show.
As stand up comedians, they recorded their second half hour Comedy Central Presents in November 2009 and it premiered in March of 2010. The Onion A.V. Club named their latest comedy CD
Hendersons And Daughters in their Top 10 Comedy albums of 2011.
And Neil Strausse of the New York Times said of the Sklars, “Their
comedy accepts the reality of being twins but does not use it as a
crutch. Instead," noted Strauss, "they work with their physical and
mental similarities and correspondences, their status as imperfect
carbon copies of each other. In their comedy, the straight man is often
    an echo."
Randy and Jason currently reside in Los Angeles, where they record
their popular weekly sports comedy podcasts Sklarbro Country and
    Sklarbro County for earwolf.com.

  • Jerrod Carmichael

    Jerrod Carmichael

Jerrod Carmichael is an LA based standup and performer originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has been crafting his standup for over three years and this year was featured in Variety as being one of the top ten comics to watch, as well as being one of the New Faces at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival.

Jerrod is a regular around some of LA’s favorite standup shows, including Meltdown, The Improv, Laugh Factory and many alternative rooms.

Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is getting his very first standup special, and it's going to be a big one: an hour-long special for HBO. The untitled special will be taped May 7th, 2014 at The Comedy Store, and it will air later this year. Carmichael's HBO hour is being produced by Funny Or Die and directed by Spike Lee. This will be only the second standup special Spike Lee has directed, following the 2000 standup concert film The Original Kings of Comedy.

In an interview with us back in 2012, Carmichael discussed plans to do a special:

"I have an idea [for a special]. I think it's a good idea. It's very specific to me … If you do a special, you want to do it not just to do a special. You want to do it because you have something to say, and you think it can be impactful. So, what I want to say is coming out more, and I'm excited about that."

It's very rare for HBO to give an hour special to a comedian as new as Carmichael, who, although he's been doing standup since 2008, has never done a set on TV. Most comedians start with late night spots or a half-hour Comedy Central special, so Carmichael getting an hour on HBO, which is a prestigious and sought-after gig in the industry, as his first televised performance says a lot about how much faith HBO has in him.

Carmichael, who ranked first in a 2013 poll we conducted amongst LA bookers and hosts to determine their favorite up and coming standups, has appeared on Fox's The Goodwin Games, the upcoming movie Neighbors, and created and starred in a sitcom pilot that's currently in development at NBC.

His most recent CD, Explosion Land, debuted in the top 15 of the iTunes comedy charts. In describing the album, which deals largely with human evolution, technology, and beliefs, Daniel Berkowitz of the Spit Take said: “Huntsberger rarely talks about himself, but he makes up for that lack of intimacy by not merely addressing topics ostensibly foreign to comedy fans, but by doing so in an intelligent, fluid and slightly absurdist way.”

David has made appearances on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend as well as NBC’s Last Comic Standing and has written for The Benson Interruption on Comedy Central. He has been invited to the Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival in D.C., the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Oregon, The Comedy and Burrito Festival in San Francisco, CA, The Vancouver Comedy Festival, Montreal Just for Laughs, and the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin, TX.
