A regular guest on CHELSEA LATELY, Ryan has also appeared on CONAN, Comedy Central’s LIVEAT GOTHAM, and his own half-hour special: COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS… RYAN STOUT. While still in college, Stout was already performing over 300 shows per year when, at age 22, he won the Boston International Comedy Festival's stand-up comedy competition. He went on to perform at HBO’s The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festivalin Aspen, the prestigious Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival in Montreal, and the very hip SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Within six months of moving to Los Angeles, he booked his first pilot, hosting a game show for MTV. Pete Davidson hit the stage for the first time at the age of 16. Since then Pete has toured North America playing colleges, comedy clubs and theaters. The Staten Island native has broke out this year starring in three MTV programs: Guy Code, Wild 'N' Out: Raw and Failosophy. Pete will be making his network stand-up comedy debut on Comedy Central this Fall and appeared on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live. 2013 also marks his debut in a feature film with his role in Nick Cannon's School Dance.
At 19 years of age, Pete's stand-up is considered fresh and honest. In 2011, CBS Radio took notice and claimed he was "next up… and by next up, we mean NOW!" The praise landed him a role on 92.3NOW's morning show "Rollin with Nick Cannon." His work on the highly rated talk show led to a nation-wide tour with Cannon.
Even at a young age, Pete has a lot to say on stage. He takes his real life situations whether it's tackling family issues or the pitfalls of adolescence and finds the humor behind it all. When he's not touring Pete can be seen throughout New York City performing at Caroline's On Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club and The Stand.
Joe DeRosa started stand-up comedy by hitting the Wednesday night open mic at the Laff House in Philadelphia, PA. Within a year, he was a regular there and at all the major clubs in the surrounding area. It was not long before Joe made the jump to New York City to take up comedy as a full time gig. He quickly began working frequently at New York venues such as Caroline's, Stand-up New York, the Laugh Factory, and Gotham Comedy Club. He also made appearances on "Last Call with Carson Daly," Comedy Central's "Premium Blend," and the "New Faces" showcase at the Montreal Comedy Festival. In addition, he's performed on national tours such as Dave Chappelle's "Block Party Tour" and the "Insomniac Tour" with Dave Attell. Joe continues to perform constantly, making television appearances and headlining clubs and colleges both in and out of the country. Jerrod Carmichael is an LA based standup and performer originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has been crafting his standup for over three years and this year was featured in Variety as being one of the top ten comics to watch, as well as being one of the New Faces at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival.
Jerrod is a regular around some of LA’s favorite standup shows, including Meltdown, The Improv, Laugh Factory and many alternative rooms.
Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is getting his very first standup special, and it's going to be a big one: an hour-long special for HBO. The untitled special will be taped May 7th, 2014 at The Comedy Store, and it will air later this year. Carmichael's HBO hour is being produced by Funny Or Die and directed by Spike Lee. This will be only the second standup special Spike Lee has directed, following the 2000 standup concert film The Original Kings of Comedy.
In an interview with us back in 2012, Carmichael discussed plans to do a special:
"I have an idea [for a special]. I think it's a good idea. It's very specific to me … If you do a special, you want to do it not just to do a special. You want to do it because you have something to say, and you think it can be impactful. So, what I want to say is coming out more, and I'm excited about that."
It's very rare for HBO to give an hour special to a comedian as new as Carmichael, who, although he's been doing standup since 2008, has never done a set on TV. Most comedians start with late night spots or a half-hour Comedy Central special, so Carmichael getting an hour on HBO, which is a prestigious and sought-after gig in the industry, as his first televised performance says a lot about how much faith HBO has in him.
Carmichael, who ranked first in a 2013 poll we conducted amongst LA bookers and hosts to determine their favorite up and coming standups, has appeared on Fox's The Goodwin Games, the upcoming movie Neighbors, and created and starred in a sitcom pilot that's currently in development at NBC.
