Join Kathleen Madigan in “Friends of Tim: A Comedic Celebration of the Life of Tim Wilson” on Wednesday, May 14th. Fellow comedians Ron White, Billy Gardell, Ralphie May, James Gregory and Killer Beaz accompany Kathleen in a night of comedy to celebrate the life of Tim Wilson, a Nashville resident comedian who passed away on February 26th. All proceeds from the show will benefit the Tim Wilson Memorial fund.
Over Kathleen Madigan’s 25 year career she has performed on nearly every standup television show ever made; Leno, Letterman, Conan, Ferguson and so on. Her third hour-long special, Madigan Again, which iTunes named one of the Best Comedy Albums of 2013, premièred on September 11 exclusively on Netflix in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Latin America. Previously she’s released 4 CDs and 2 DVDs and starred in 2 HBO specials, 3 Comedy Central specials, 3 CMT Salute to the Troops specials with Ron White and her last hour-long special, Gone Madigan, premièred on Showtime and is available on Netflix.
Chuck Martin is an Emmy winning writer, producer and director, but considers himself a standup comedian first. As a veteran standup comedian, Chuck has made numerous appearances on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” along with many other appearances on Showtime, MTV, and Comedy Central. Martin has also toured with legendary comedians Howie Mandel and George Wallace, and he can currently be seen on tour with Jerry Seinfeld.
As a writer and producer, Chuck won an Emmy for his work on the critically acclaimed FOX series “Arrested Development” and was nominated for two more. Other award nominations include “Television Producer of the Year” from the PGA and two nominations from the Writer’s Guild for “Best Comedy Series.” Chuck’s other television writing credits include “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher,” “The Ellen Show,” “53rd Annual Emmy Awards,” and the “74th (and 77th) Annual Academy Awards.”
Chuck’s other television work includes co-writing and directing the FOX pilot “Sincerely, Ted L Nancy,” which is based on the best-selling book series “Letters from a Nut.” He also directed a pilot for Comedy Central titled “Playlist,” as well as the second season finale of “Arrested Development.”
In film, Martin currently has two feature films in development, one for Universal and the other for Paramount for which he is also attached as director. He additionally had a voiceover role in the DreamWorks animated feature “Bee Movie” and was also a writer on the project.
Most recently, Chuck has been writing and producing NBC’s “The Marriage Ref” and working on his standup act in Los Angeles and New York.
Cristela Alonzo is the cocreator, coexecutive producer and star of the ABC sitcom, “Cristela,” an achievement which caps a whirlwind year. Cristela rose to fame in the world of standup and has since topped multiple comedy power player lists including "Variety's Top 10 Comics to Watch," "Top 10 Comedy Acts to Watch in 2014" by LA Weekly, Cosmo Latina's "8 Women You Should be Following on Twitter," Time Out's "Comics to Watch," Cosmo's "13 Female Comedians to Watch For in 2014," and "One of the 50 Comedians You Should and WILL Know" by Vulture.com.
Cristela recently made a deal with Comedy Central to release her debut CD, “Some of the Hits,” this fall. "The Half Hour," her first half hour special in Boston, premiered in June 2013 on Comedy Central to rave reviews. Cristela has also made appearances on “The View,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” "Conan,” Gabriel Iglesias' "Stand Up Revolution," Showtime's "Legally Brown," "Last Comic Standing" and "Live at Gotham." In addition, she performed at the Bonnaroo Music Festival and the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal.
One of the most popular standup comedians in the college market, she showcased at the NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) national convention in Charlotte, NC, and was the most requested act of the convention. In the past three years, she has performed for almost 300 colleges.
Originally from San Juan, Texas—Cristela is based in Los Angeles, and when not on the road, can be found performing at various area clubs, including her home club The Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach.
