Born in Ohio and raised in Small Town, Michigan, Banachowski started stand up comedy at the age 17 in a high school talent show (and won that shit).
Forced to go to college, and having to pay for it in cash, Banachowski worked as a tutor, busboy, waiter, dishwasher, landscaper, midnight receptionist, and television producer all while graduating from Second City Detroit and hanging out at comedy clubs and the dive-iest of bars throughout southeast Michigan (and wonders why he's never had a successful relationship that whole period).
After graduating with a degree in math at 21 (genius), he moved to Los Angeles where he's been doing comedy every night ever since (minus a year where he lived in Brooklyn, New York doing comedy and getting food poisoning in public where he vomited and shit himself on a train for an hour (not genius)). He's also graduated from LA improv schools such as the Upright Citizen's Brigade, The Groundling's Theatre, and regularly performs stand up at the Hollywood Improv and Comedy Store as well as clubs across the US.
Audience members have often compared his style to the likes of George Carlin, Bill Burr, and Bo Burnham (which I'm sure they'd all be thrilled to hear, "You know Bill, you remind me of this Polish kid I saw at that bar Big Fish in Glendale").
Come see the stars of the future and the comedians of the present!
The open mic sign up is from 5:30pm to 5:40pm and the show starts at 5:45pm. Everyone writes their name on a slip of paper and throws it into a bucket, at 5:45pm the host will grab the bucket, walk on stage, and start the show. Comics are drawn directly from the bucket so anyone has the chance to perform!
If you're selected it's a TIGHT 3 minute set, that means you get blasted off with music right at the 3 minute mark so come prepared.
It's a NO COVER, NO MINIMUM PURCHASE show, so come out and enjoy an evening of randomness!
