I was born in Virginia, started comedy in DC, aged four years, and now live in Los Angeles. I won the DC Improv Comedy Competition in 2008 and other lesser important comedy contests in VA. I soon made a name for myself as the premiere contest winner and cheater of DC. I am very proud of the peer group I started out with in DC and think they will all be comedy heros! You must feel foolish for not having seen them. I've been invited to the Bridgetown Comedy Festival twice now and picked out of 600 hundred comics to compete in the Laughing Skull Festival where I made it to the semi-finals. The webcomic that I make with my brother Clay Yount www.robandelliot.com has an awesome fanbase and has been a critics' favorite on occasion. We've been doing it for 6 years. If it were a child it would finally be of the age to realize the world is fucked up.
David Huntsberger is a stand-up comedian whose voice you might recognize from his weekly podcast Professor Blastoff with Tig Notaro and Kyle Dunnigan, which debuted at #1 on iTunes and was named to Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List” at #2. In May of 2014, it was named #9 on RollingStone.com’s top twenty podcast list.
David is a regular on the Doug Loves Movies podcast and Sklarbro Country, where he is the voice of ‘High Vitale’. He was also a guest on Marc Maron’s WTF and Jimmy Pardo’s Never Not Funny. His most recent CD, Explosion Land, debuted in the top 15 of the iTunes comedy charts. In describing the album, which deals largely with human evolution, technology, and beliefs, Daniel Berkowitz of the Spit Take said: “Huntsberger rarely talks about himself, but he makes up for that lack of intimacy by not merely addressing topics ostensibly foreign to comedy fans, but by doing so in an intelligent, fluid and slightly absurdist way.”
David has made appearances on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend as well as NBC’s Last Comic Standing and has written for The Benson Interruption on Comedy Central. He has been invited to the Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival in D.C., the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Oregon, The Comedy and Burrito Festival in San Francisco, CA, The Vancouver Comedy Festival, Montreal Just for Laughs, and the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin, TX.
In his free-time, he enjoys drawing comics and animation – which can be seen at his website.
