  • Derrick Ellis

    Derrick Ellis

BIOGRAPHY The unmistakable comedy stylings of stand-up Derrick Ellis are more than simply unique. His act is truly one-of-a-kind. Whether the Houston native is ripping up the stages of concert halls around the country or slaying audiences on the comedy club scene, Derrick can see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel to comedy’s big time. After making a splash on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam a decade ago, followed by nine successful appearances on BET’s Comic View, and most recently P. Diddy’s Bad Boys Of Comedy on HBO, Ellis is steadily carving out a national following of loyal fans. Touting his own point-of-view, Derrick also pays homage to many of comedy’s legends. He has the loveably irreverent attitude of Robin Harris, the precise timing of Hinny Youngman, the cool presence of Dick Gregory, and the urban sensibilities of Richard Pryor. Equally witty and clever as he is knee-jerk hilarious, Derrick’s shtick will make you crack up and picture what he just said at the same time. Derrick is a seasoned touring comic, often opening for Don “DC” Curry in concert and headlining his own shows in clubs. He also maintains his cue in and around southern California. When not on the road he Hosts every Saturday Night at J. Anthony Brown’s Los Angeles comedy club The J Spot. Always exploring new avenues for his comedy, Derrick has recently innovated a new concept called Coffee and Comedy, where he hosts a weekly clean comedy showcase at a Crenshaw District/Liemert Park Starbucks Coffee House, helping his fellow comics work on their TV-oriented sets. Equally enterprising off stage, Ellis has recently launched his own successful clothing line, “Funny Wear by Derrick Ellis. ” Derrick can be seen as a featured actor and comedian in writer/director Tony Spires’ ode to the Black comedian, the feature film Tears Of A Clown, starring fellow stand-up and roster mate Don D.C. Curry. TELEVISION/FILM TEARS OF A CLOWN: starring Don “DC” Curry (featured actor and comedian) P. • Maronzio Vance

    Maronzio Vance

If you are looking for someone who knows the meaning of the word "no" then keep looking because if you ask anyone who knows him, Maronzio Vance refuses to acknowledge the word even exists. Making people laugh for as long as he can remember, this witty, sarcastic, storytelling North Carolina-born comedian/actor (who also refuses to accept the fact that he comes from the South because his state starts with "North") once waited in a men's bathroom for two and a half hours for a chance to meet the Kings of Comedy.

If you haven't seen him in any local bathrooms, you may have seen him on The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Jamie Foxx’s Laffaplooza on Comedy Central, Wanda Sykes: Wanda Does It, Last Call with Carson Daly, writing for The Boondocks or Last Comic Standing. People can mistake his comedy and conversation as being sarcastic, but let him tell it: "When I started out I asked Steve Harvey the key to becoming a good comedian. He paused and told me how much his suit cost. I can only give what I'm given. See you in the restroom people."
