  • Bryan Callen Comedy Central Certified

    Bryan Callen

Born in the Philippines, Bryan Callen spent the first fourteen years of his life overseas in countries like India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Greece and Saudi Arabia, before moving to the U.S. He went to high school in Massachusetts and earned his B.A. in History at the American University in Washington D.C.

Callen has spent the last 17 years in Los Angeles fighting traffic because that's where he seems to find the most work (Callen is also writing this but making it seem like someone ELSE is writing this by referring to himself in the 3rd person). Callen got his start as an original cast member of MAD TV. He then went on to play numerous roles on the small and big screen including, "Old School" "Bad Santa", "Sex and the City", “Entourage,” "Californication", “7th Heaven,” “King of Queens,” “Stacked,” “Las Vegas,” “West Wing,” “News Radio,” “Significant Others,” “CSI,” “NYPD Blue,” “Suddenly Susan,” and “Frasier.” He recently finished a two-season character arc on USA’s “In Plain Sight.”

Callen is not a famous actor but sometimes people look at him and scream "Bilson," since that's the character he played on several episodes of CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother.” His most recent TV role was Captain Frank Dashell, leader of the Undead Task Force, in the short-lived but critically acclaimed MTV comedy, "Death Valley." He has been recognized for that role exactly 4 times but who cares since he's been recognized over one million times (I'm guessing) as EDDIE, the Middle Eastern owner of a wedding chapel in a little movie called THE HANGOVER. Not to mention his role as Samir, in HANGOVER II where he played basically the same exact character only Samir had thick, curly, hair and darker skin which is actually a good look on Callen considering his Irish/Italian heritage has left him with a ruddy complexion and thinning, mouse-brown hair.

His most recent roles on the big screen were in the Lion's Gate drama WARRIOR and the 2014 feature film RIDE ALONG starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube.

Between acting gigs Callen spends his time power lifting, taming lions, vanquishing evil and making people laugh as a stand up comic. That's why he can currently be seen on SHOWTIME performing a stand up comedy special called MAN CLASS.

  • Jay Oakerson

    Jay Oakerson

Jay Oakerson currently has a new full length, digital-only album, An American Storyteller on COMEDY CENTRAL Records. Jay's story-based style of stand-up comedy got its start after a series of dead-end jobs, including driving strippers and escorts around his hometown of Philly. Now the New York City resident has made comedy his full-time job, flooring audiences with true tales of odd threesomes and bizarre sexual encounters. An American Storyteller, recorded at Standup New York, is a one-hour onslaught of unbridled awesomeness and raunchy rock 'n' roll hilarity.

Jay has emerged as one of the most sought after attractions in the industry. Only a ten-year veteran in the world of stand-up, he has already performed at two of the most prestigious festivals in the business, the “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival in Montreal and the HBO “U.S. Comedy Arts Festival.”

Jay is recognized from many of his television appearances, most recently on the hit IFC show “Z-Rock,” where he received critical acclaim for his performance as “Neil”, the sexually ambiguous owner of a NYC rock club. His television credits include Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” ‘Comedy Central Presents, half-hour special” and “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” multiple appearances on BET's “Comic View” and HBO’s “P. Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy.”

This past summer Jay performed his stand up comedy for over a quarter of a million screaming rock ‘n’ roll fans by hosting Jager’s Korn tour and Rock Star Energy Drink’s Mayhem Fest.

  • Jerrod Carmichael

    Jerrod Carmichael

Jerrod Carmichael is an LA based standup and performer originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has been crafting his standup for over three years and this year was featured in Variety as being one of the top ten comics to watch, as well as being one of the New Faces at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival.

Jerrod is a regular around some of LA’s favorite standup shows, including Meltdown, The Improv, Laugh Factory and many alternative rooms.

Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is getting his very first standup special, and it's going to be a big one: an hour-long special for HBO. The untitled special will be taped May 7th, 2014 at The Comedy Store, and it will air later this year. Carmichael's HBO hour is being produced by Funny Or Die and directed by Spike Lee. This will be only the second standup special Spike Lee has directed, following the 2000 standup concert film The Original Kings of Comedy.

In an interview with us back in 2012, Carmichael discussed plans to do a special:

"I have an idea [for a special]. I think it's a good idea. It's very specific to me … If you do a special, you want to do it not just to do a special. You want to do it because you have something to say, and you think it can be impactful. So, what I want to say is coming out more, and I'm excited about that."

It's very rare for HBO to give an hour special to a comedian as new as Carmichael, who, although he's been doing standup since 2008, has never done a set on TV. Most comedians start with late night spots or a half-hour Comedy Central special, so Carmichael getting an hour on HBO, which is a prestigious and sought-after gig in the industry, as his first televised performance says a lot about how much faith HBO has in him.

Carmichael, who ranked first in a 2013 poll we conducted amongst LA bookers and hosts to determine their favorite up and coming standups, has appeared on Fox's The Goodwin Games, the upcoming movie Neighbors, and created and starred in a sitcom pilot that's currently in development at NBC.

    Aaron Weinstein

Named "a rising star violinist" by Downbeat magazine, 2011 Nightlife Award winner Aaron Weinstein is quickly earning a reputation as one of the finest jazz violinists of his generation. Aaron and his trio-Tedd Firth on piano and Tom Hubbard on bass-will make their Metropolitan Room debut together in a new show entitled "Have Strings, Will Swing!" Selections from the show include "I Won't Dance," "Someone To Watch Over Me," "A Sleepin' Bee" and "Cheek to Cheek." As a featured soloist, Aaron has performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Wolftrap, the Blue Note, Birdland, Iridium, and abroad at festivals in England, France, Switzerland and Israel. He has performed with an array of jazz icons, including Les Paul, Bucky Pizzarelli (who calls Aaron "a perfect musician"), John Pizzarelli, Scott Hamilton, and Dick Hyman, as well as the late NY Pops founder/conductor Skitch Henderson. With the release of his Arbors Record debut, A Handful of Stars (called "the rebirth of hot jazz violin" by Hentoff), Aaron became the youngest jazz musician to have recorded as leader for this prestigious traditional jazz label. His newest release, Blue Too, is a duo with John Pizzarelli. "A sensational talent in the tradition of St├ęphane Grappelli and Joe Venuti, Mr. Weinstein...is an inventive melodic improviser who doesn't go in for flashy gymnastic flourishes. He turned "Just One of Those Things" into a mini-marathon of swinging endurance, at the end of which you were left a little breathless." - Stephen Holden, The New York Times "The funniest guy with a fiddle since the hilarious Jack Benny." -David Finkle, Theatermania "...so fierily invigorating that you have to move to his music." -Nat Hentoff, Wall Street Journal
