  • Mary Patterson Broome

    Mary Patterson Broome

Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Mary Patterson (that’s a double-name—it’s all her first name. She isn’t married and there is no hyphen. Please take a moment to process this) Broome is comedian, writer, actress and self-help enthusiast who has been thrilling the masses since her starring role in the elementary school classic, Crosspatch and Cupid.

She has performed stand-up comedy at clubs, colleges, casinos, cruise ships, banquet halls, United States military bases and many other random rooms with microphones, for over ten years. She has featured for a number of esteemed headliners including Richard Lewis, Maria Bamford, Sebastian Maniscalco, Greg Fitzsimmons, Greg Proops, Jimmy Shubert, Dom Irrera and Pete Correale, just to name a few. Broome has appeared on nationally syndicated radio’s The Bob & Tom Show and Comedy’s Dynamics: Uncontrolled Comedy.

She has been invited to participate in numerous comedy festivals including SF Sketchfest, Moontower Comedy Festival, Laughing Skull Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival and Women In Comedy Festival. You get it: home girl loves to perform.

Broome has written for AOL’s Originals’ Emmy-nominated Making a Scene with James Franco and WE TV’s Sex Box. She is currently the Senior Editor at AfterParty Magazine and a regular contributor to Women’s Health Magazine Online.

She was the co-host of Homeo and Juliet, a 100-episode podcast with fellow comedian and screenwriter, Jason Romaine. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and loves makin’ kale smoothies in her spare time. She now somewhat reluctantly calls Los Angeles home. Oh, and her pictures is on the wall at a dry cleaner’s in Hollywood, her biggest career achievement to date.
