Mama's Boy is an all-female improv group plus one male guest. "Mama's Boy" is Nyima Funk, Nancy Hayden, Maribeth Monroe, Jaime Moyer and Amy Phillips. Maribeth Monroe is most known for playing Alice Murphy on Comedy Central's hit show Workaholics for seven seasons. Recently, she co-starred alongside Tim Robbin's in HBO's The Brink. She's had recurring roles on both Parks and Recreation and on NBC's new hit show The Good Place where she plays cocaine addict Mindy St. Clair. She's had numerous guest starring roles on shows like Modern Family, IFC's Maron, and According To Jim just to name a few. Film credits include: The Backup Plan, Keeping up with the Joneses, the upcoming remake of Jumanji, and Alexander Payne's highly anticipated new film Downsizing which was recently accepted into both the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.
Nyima Funk grew up in lovely Ann Arbor, MI. After college, she joined The Second City Main Stage in Chicago and won a Joseph Jefferson award for Best Actress. Her television credits include Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Key & Peele, Barely Famous, Son of Zom, The Soul Man, Wild ‘N Out, The George Lopez Show, Why? With Hannibal Burress, Chasing Life, Basketball Wives LA, According to Jim, Girlfriends, Thank God You’re Here, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Nyima sings the theme song for TV Land’s hit show Teachers. She regularly performs improv in Los Angeles with The Black Version, Mama’s Boy and The 313. When she’s not working, Nyima is a PTA mom who spends time with her super-hot husband, Joshua Funk, and her beautiful children, Ziza and Moze.
Jaime has guest star credits on Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, 2 Broke Girls, and a recurring role as neighbor Mrs. Goldfeder on Disney's K.C Undercover. She is an alum of The Second City-Detroit and a current member of the acting unions SAG-AFTRA and AEA. Jaime is the creator of the viral hit "Fancy Catz" which can be seen on YouTube at the Second City Network, and has appeared in several short and feature length films. Nancy Hayden began her improv and sketch comedy career as a writer/performer in The Second City Detroit Mainstage cast. After co -writing and appearing in five revues, Nancy went on to direct SC touring company and Detroit mainstage productions, including “Jihad It Up to Here” and “My Cousin’s Wedding.” After relocating to Los Angeles, Nancy began performing with Mama’s Boy and The 313. She has directed SC Hollywood premium productions “Yes Weed Can” and “Cancer! The Musical” as well as writing and directing “Armagayddon.” She then served as Head Writer/Creative Director for the national “Girls’ Night In” Tour, produced by Fullscreen. Most recently, Nancy has worked as writer/producer for “Bravo After Hours With Carrie Keagan,” and a staff writer for DreamWorksTV and “Detroiters” on Comedy Central. She was also recently named Associate Artistic Director for The Second City Hollywood.
Amy Phillips is originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She is an actress, comedian and voiceover artist who attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and studied improv at The Second City Detroit, iO Chicago and The Annoyance Theater. In addition to her long list of celebrity impressions and characters, she has turned her attention to doing impressions of reality TV stars, specifically Bravo TV’s “Real Housewives” and many other “Bravo-lebrities”. Her self-produced video parodies are a regular feature on Bravo TV’s late night talk show, “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” and you may also catch Amy doing an occasional live appearance on the show. In the scripted world, Amy appeared as a co-star on TBS’s "Cougar Town" and as a series regular on VH1's sketch show “Stevie TV”. Most recently she took part in Dana Carvey’s show on USA called “First Impressions”. Amy has a bi-weekly show on SiriusXM, Radio Andy, called “Reality Checked”. She performs regularly at Second City Hollywood, and other venues, with the improv group “Mama’s Boy."
